This study was conducted to examine the effect of foliar spray and soil drench of uniconazole ((E)-1-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,4-dimethyl-2-(1,2,4-triazol-l-y1)-1-penten-3-ol) on the growth and flowering in Chrysanthemum zawadskii ssp. naktongense to develop as a pot flower. Foliar spray and soil drench of uniconazole were equally effective in controlling growth and flowering. Foliar spray and soil drench of uniconazole at 0.25-1.25 §· per pot significantly reduced plant height. There was no significant difference in shoot and leaf number, but leaf size, internode length, and flower stalk length decreased with increasing concentration. Number of flowers increased by soil drench of uniconazole at 0.25 §· per pot, but decreased at higher concentration. Nitrogen content of leaf was increased relatively more than carbohydrate content by uniconazole treatment, and carbon-nitrogen ratio decreased. Chlorophyll content of leaf was increased by uniconazole treatment. It was concluded that foliar spray or soil drench of uniconazole at 0.25 §· per pot was most effective in reducing plant height and flowering.
